When the weather starts warming up, everything gets a little brighter for me– my mood improves, farmers markets open back up, and I find myself taking more time to enjoy the little things. Maybe I’m overselling it, but I love the days leading up to summer and what better way to celebrate this time of the year than with a flower workshop! Alicia Lund of one of my favorite blogs, Cheetah is the New Black, teamed up with Kim of Bloomers Floral Design to host a Makers x Masullo floral workshop. A bunch of us local ladies all gathered round the rustically adorned tables of Masullo’s new patio, and learned how to craft a splashy, yet balanced bouquet. Afterward, we indulged in the best farm-to-fork pizza and salads in town, plus some delicious rosé! So refreshing amidst the heat!
I’ve since put my new skills to work when gathering flowers from the farmers market, and even from Trader Joe’s! It’s one of those simple crafts that doesn’t take long, yet does a lot to put you in a flow state and lift your mood. Plus, a bouquet you’ve put together yourself makes gifted flowers that much better.
