Being part of a tight knit creative community has many benefits – connecting with like-minded people, bouncing ideas off one another, and collaborating on projects. Tuesdays Together is one such community and last year at one of the monthly meetings, I met Omonivie, jewelry designer of tula in bloom, who’s found her niche in creating handmade jewelry that encourages authenticity. She mentioned once that she had me in mind as a model, and recently it came to fruition as I modeled her new Strata collection!
The shoot took place at a stylish new salon in town called Wild Heart Beauty. Misty, the owner, did my hair and makeup – soft colors and beachy waves that could be swept up to show off the earrings, or worn down for a laid-back vibe with the more dramatic necklaces.
What I like about tula in bloom is the strength of the shapes. They’re bold yet simple, and can be mixed in easily with either boho pieces or a more classic collection. The new Strata collection is inspired by the layers of earth and rock — the way they create bands of color, tone and texture. Those elements combined with the tear drop shape, symbolizing water, makes for such an artistic representation of nature.
